Roco 7100046 H0 steam locomotive 50 1751, DB, Ep. III Product Details
Roco 7100046 H0 Steam locomotive 50 1751 - classic DB freight steam locomotive of Era III
With the Roco 7100046 steam locomotive 50 1751, Roco is bringing a striking model of the German Federal Railroad from Era III to the H0 rails. This class 50 locomotive is in typical ÜK design - without a bell, but with many technical and visual features. The model combines a powerful drive concept with the finest detail elements - ideal for realistic freight train operations in post-war Germany.
Impressive technology
The locomotive has a drive on two tender axles and a cardan shaft that supplies all five driving axles of the locomotive with power - this results in a total of 7 driven axles! In addition, a flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics. Equipped with a PluX16 interface, the locomotive is prepared for digital operation. The LED headlights change over depending on the direction of travel and illuminate with three points of light at both ends of the locomotive.
Detailed design with metal components
The 4-domed boiler version without a bell corresponds to the typical ÜK version, as was found on many machines after conversions, even with low road numbers. Fine metal wheel sets and driving and coupling rods made of cast metal provide a realistic appearance and additional stability. The small lamps on the front buffer beam are a charming detail that makes this locomotive an eye-catcher on any layout.
Historical background to the class 50 1751
The class 50 was one of the most frequently built DB freight locomotives and was used for heavy line service. Originally equipped with a bell mechanism, this was removed as part of the simplification measures (ÜK). In addition, many locomotives were individually adapted through conversions and boiler replacements. Locomotive 50 1751 is a prime example of the diversity and versatility of this class in everyday service on the Bundesbahn.
Who is this model suitable for?
This model is ideal for fans of heavy freight trains and classic DB steam technology. It is ideally suited for Era III operational layouts and is aimed at model railroaders who value powerful propulsion, fine detailing and historical accuracy.
