Roco 7300083 H0 Diesel locomotive no. 1, DBP, Ep. III-IV - Postal service with history and Next18 technology
With the Roco 7300083 German Federal Post Office diesel locomotive no. 1, you can bring a piece of rare German railroad history to your H0 model layout. The locomotive is based on the Wehrmacht type WR 360 C 14 and was newly built in 1948 by Maschinenbau Kiel (MaK). It was deployed by the Oberpostdirektion Hannover and was used in postal stations and adjacent DB areas until 1972. As a model, it is now appearing for the first time with a modern Next18 interface and fine technical details.
Special vehicle of the Federal Post Office in an authentic design
The locomotive is painted in the typical Bundespost livery and bears the road number "No. 1". The enlarged cooling water expansion tank is striking - a visual distinguishing feature compared to the original models from the Wehrmacht era. The model faithfully reproduces these differences and convincingly conveys the technical appearance of the post-war period.
Historically significant - technically modernized
The WR 360 C 14 was originally intended as a robust shunting locomotive for strategically important Wehrmacht tasks. In civilian post-war operation, it took on new tasks at the post office - from the delivery of large quantities of mail to shunting in railroad post facilities. The H0 version from Roco brings this rare application profile to the layout and combines historical accuracy with contemporary technology - including LED headlights and a modern Next18 interface for future digitalization.
Technology for reliable operation on compact layouts
With three powered axles, one axle with traction tires and a built-in flywheel, the locomotive is ideally suited for short trains and shunting tasks. The three-light headlights change depending on the direction of travel and ensure a realistic effect during operation. The short length over buffers of 106 mm makes the model particularly attractive for compact layouts and narrow track layouts.
A must for Era III-IV collectors and technology enthusiasts
The locomotive is ideal for depicting inner-city mail and freight traffic of the post-war period. It unfolds its full potential in combination with railroad mail cars or shunting scenes in the area of large city stations. The Next18 interface, installed for the first time, offers future-proof digitization options for all those who want to combine function and fidelity to the original.
