Roco 7310083 H0 Diesel locomotive no. 1, DBP, Ep. III-IV, DC sound - Postal locomotive with character and digital sound profile
The Roco 7310083 No. 1 diesel locomotive of the German Federal Post Office is an exceptional model with an authentic prototype and modern digital technology. This variant is based on the Wehrmacht type WR 360 C 14, but was newly manufactured by MaK in 1948 and converted for civilian tasks. It was used by the Oberpostdirektion Hannover and was part of a small but distinctive fleet of locomotives that were used for postal and freight traffic between 1948 and 1972.
Historical model for civilian railroad mail operations
Postal locomotive no. 1 was one of four locomotives operated in Hanover. They were active both in the postal station and in adjacent DB areas. A characteristic feature of these machines was the enlarged cooling water expansion tank, a feature that has been faithfully reproduced in the model. The compact, beefy appearance makes the locomotive a real eye-catcher in shunting service and with short freight trains.
Digitally equipped with Next18 interface and sound
The model has a factory-soldered DCC digital decoder with Next18 interface - a first for this series. The integrated sound chip provides realistic operating sounds that enhance the driving experience. In digital mode, the shunting light can also be switched separately, which plays a particularly important role in everyday operation on the model railroad.
Technically mature for compact layouts
With three driven axles, one axle with traction tires and a flywheel, the model offers reliable running characteristics. The direction-dependent LED headlights with three lights at both ends of the vehicle provide prototypical lighting. The locomotive is suitable for radii from 358 mm and, thanks to its compact length of 106 mm, is ideal for small stations, postal facilities or cramped industrial tracks.
Ideal for mail trains and branch line scenes
The locomotive can be perfectly combined with mail cars, short freight cars or even passenger cars in branch line scenarios. As part of an authentic Era III-IV train set, it brings a rare vehicle in civilian use to your layout and emphasizes the diversity of German railroad traffic in the post-war period.
