Roco 7300096 H0 Diesel locomotive BR 120, DR, Ep. IV
Would you like to enrich your analog H0 layout with a powerful and striking diesel locomotive from the GDR era? The Roco BR 120 144 - also known as the "Taiga Drum" - impresses with its authentic design, high tractive power and numerous lovingly implemented details.
The "Taiga Drum" - Soviet strength on Reichsbahn tracks
Between 1966 and 1975, the Deutsche Reichsbahn imported a total of 378 class V 200 (from 1970: class 120) locomotives from the Soviet Union. The locomotives were equipped with two powerful engines, but without electric train heating - which made them the ideal powerhouse for freight train services. The 120 144 was based in the Dresden depot of the Rbd Dresden and quickly became an eye-catcher in the fleet thanks to its wide Dessau decorative stripes.
Authentic down to the smallest detail
Roco realizes the prototype with impressive precision: Original silencers, free-standing shunting handles, realistic bogies and fully executed brake air lines with air tanks are evidence of the highest model-making quality. The engine room is printed in multiple colors for the first time - a first for this locomotive series.
Technology for analog model railroaders with digital option
The model also impresses in analog operation with its built-in LED headlights, which change depending on the direction of travel. Driver's cab and engine room lighting are already integrated and can be activated via the PluX22 interface during a later digital conversion - ideal for model railroaders who want to keep future digital options open.
Powerful in use - reliable on the layout
Six powered axles, two of which have traction tires, and a flywheel mass ensure excellent running characteristics and tractive power. The minimum radius of 358 mm also allows use on layouts with tight curves - a real workhorse for your Era IV trains.
Conclusion: A classic DR freight locomotive for analog fans
The Roco BR 120 144 combines historical authenticity with reliable technology - perfect for anyone who values faithfulness to the original and solid equipment. Now available in the model railroad store - get the "Taiga drum" on your H0 tracks!
