Prototype: The class 112.1

The class 112.1 was procured jointly by DB and DR from 1992 as an improved version of the class 112.0. The most striking external feature is the merging of the large head and tail lights into smaller, combined halogen lamps. With an output of 4,000 kW and a maximum speed of 160 km/h, the locomotive was predestined for express train services and is still used today in intercity, regional express and special passenger train services.

Detailed model realization

The model impresses with its intricate design, including finely etched, perforated front tread plates, which perfectly replicate the striking appearance of the prototype. The oriental red color scheme is true to the prototype and makes the locomotive an eye-catcher in any train set of Era VI.

Technical equipment

A 5-pole motor with a flywheel ensures smooth and powerful running characteristics. The locomotive is equipped with four powered axles, one of which has traction tires. The 3 headlights / 2 taillights, depending on the direction of travel, are implemented with modern LED technology. Thanks to the PluX22 interface, the model can be easily digitized. NEM 362 couplers with close coupler kinematics ensure reliable operation.

For modern railroad operation

With a length over buffers of 192 mm, the locomotive is suitable for use in front of intercity trains, regional express sets and special trains. This makes it the ideal choice for model railroaders who want to authentically represent modern railroad operation in Era VI.
