From the present of MAV - for your Era VI layout
In order to modernize its outdated locomotive fleet, the MAV Group leased a total of 15 ES 64 U2 (class 182) locomotives from Akiem in autumn 2023. These vehicles originally come from MRCE, are equipped with the ETCS system and are approved for use in numerous European countries - including Hungary, Austria, Germany, Croatia, Romania and Serbia. Locomotive 182 573 is particularly frequently used in high-quality passenger train services between Budapest and Vienna.
Roco model in the current version
The analog version from Roco shows the locomotive in the current appearance of the MAV-START. With three pantographs for cross-border operation, fine lettering and prototypical equipment, it is a real highlight for fans of contemporary international rail connections.
Impressive technology - analog and digital retrofitting possible
The model has a PluX22 interface and can therefore be easily retrofitted with a digital decoder. The lighting - consisting of a 3 headlights / 2 tail lights depending on the direction of travel - can be switched using a DIP switch. The flywheel mass and four powered axles (one with traction tires) ensure smooth and reliable operation.
Flexible use on your layout
With a length over buffers of 221 mm and close coupling kinematics in accordance with NEM 362, the locomotive fits perfectly into modern passenger train or international night train sets of Era VI. A Z21 driver's cab is also available and enables later integration into digital control systems.
