Roco 7500258 H0 E-Lok 193 297-9 CD Ep.VI Product Details

Roco 7500258 H0 Electric Locomotive 193 297-9 ČD Ep. VI – Siemens Vectron MS “Seppl” for International EuroCity Service

Would you like to recreate a modern EuroCity train running between Prague, Dresden, Berlin, and Hamburg on your H0 model railroad layout? The Roco 7500258 Electric Locomotive 193 297-9 “Seppl” brings a well-known Siemens Vectron MS from Era VI to your tracks. The prototype belongs to European Locomotive Leasing (ELL) and is leased to the Czech State Railways, České dráhy (ČD). With its distinctive design, detailed roof equipment, and multicolored cab, this electric locomotive is an attractive addition for enthusiasts of modern European passenger trains. A special bonus is the included additional front panel in the ELL design.

Prototype: Siemens Vectron MS – Modern Multisystem Electric Locomotive

The Siemens Vectron family is one of the best-known generations of electric locomotives in modern European rail transport. The Vectron MS multi-system version, in particular, was developed for cross-border operation on differently electrified rail networks. This allows international trains to operate across national borders without requiring a different locomotive at every change in the power system. The four-axle locomotives combine high performance with versatile operational capabilities. The Vectron MS 193 297-9 has a power output of 6,400 kW and, in the case of the full-scale prototype, reaches a top speed of 200 km/h. This makes it ideally suited for demanding international long-distance service.

193 297-9 “Seppl” – On the Road for České dráhy

The 193 297-9 electric locomotive is nicknamed “Seppl” and is part of the European Locomotive Leasing fleet. It is operated by the Czech State Railways (České dráhy) and can be seen in particular pulling international EuroCity trains. Its well-known route is the connection from Prague via Dresden and Berlin to Hamburg. Thanks to its multi-system technology and the corresponding certifications for Germany and the Czech Republic, the locomotive can operate continuously throughout the entire route. The elimination of the need to change locomotives at the national border contributes to efficient international passenger rail service. With the Roco 7500258, this typical long-distance service scenario from Era VI can be recreated on a 1:87 scale.

Detailed roof design and multicolored cab

With the Vectron 193 297-9, Roco places special emphasis on the characteristic details of the modern Siemens electric locomotive. The carefully designed roof equipment underscores the technical appearance of the multi-system locomotive. The cab area has also been meticulously rendered: The control panel and the rear wall of the cab are multicolored, conveying a realistic impression of the locomotive crew’s workplace. The striking front sections and the typical boxy shape give the model a high degree of recognizability. As a result, the Vectron “Seppl” is impressive both while in motion and as a display piece in a collection of modern electric locomotives.

Special Extra: Additional Front Flap in ELL Design

An interesting feature of the Roco 7500258 is the additional front flap in the ELL design included with the set. It offers another way to replicate the characteristic design of the leased locomotive. Especially with modern Vectron locomotives, the details on the front sections contribute significantly to their unique appearance. The additional front flap therefore complements the prototypical model design and is particularly appealing to collectors who value distinctive design details.

Powerful H0 drive with four powered axles

The Roco 7500258 is designed for analog DC operation on H0 two-wire layouts. The drive with a flywheel ensures smooth running and a quiet operation. A total of four axles are powered, while one axle is equipped with traction tires to improve traction. This makes the locomotive well-suited for use in front of longer, modern EuroCity trainsets. With a length over buffers of 218 mm and a minimum curve radius of 358 mm, the model can be used on appropriately designed H0 track layouts. The NEM 362 coupler sockets with close-coupling kinematics allow for coupling with suitable passenger cars.

PluX22 Digital Interface and LED Lighting Effects

The Roco Vectron 193 297-9 is supplied as an analog DC locomotive but already features a PluX22 digital interface. This allows the model to be retrofitted with a suitable digital decoder as needed and prepared for digital model railroading. A digital or sound decoder is not factory-installed in this version. For prototypical lighting, the electric locomotive features a direction-dependent LED three-light headlight with two red tail lights. The automatic light change enhances the modern appearance and creates a realistic effect during train runs.

Ideal locomotive for modern ČD EuroCity trainsets

The Roco 7500258 is ideal for H0 model railroads focused on international long-distance service in Era VI. The Vectron “Seppl” pairs particularly well with modern ČD passenger cars to form a EuroCity train. Matching international long-distance passenger cars also offer interesting combination possibilities. An electrified main line with larger stations, long platforms, and cross-border train connections provides the ideal backdrop. Particularly appealing is the recreation of the route from Prague via Dresden and Berlin to Hamburg, on which the Vectron 193 297-9 is used for international passenger service.

A special Vectron model for ELL and ČD collectors

The Roco 7500258 combines modern Siemens Vectron technology with a well-known prototype from European EuroCity service. The distinctive design of the ELL locomotive leased to ČD, the detailed roof design, and the multicolored cab make the 193 297-9 “Seppl” an attractive addition for discerning model railroaders. The additional front flap included in the ELL design offers another interesting design feature. Thanks to its four-axle drive and the PluX22 digital interface, the model is suitable for both classic analog operation and future digitalization. Enhance your modern H0 locomotive collection with the Roco Vectron “Seppl” and bring international EuroCity service between Prague and Hamburg to your model railroad layout!
