Roco ME 146-12 metronom - Northern Germany's commuter locomotive in original design

Since 2003, metronom has stood for reliable local transportation between Hamburg, Bremen and Lower Saxony. With its yellow and blue double-decker trains, metronom Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH has become an integral part of public transport in northern Germany. The ME 146-12, a locomotive from the second delivery series from 2005, is technically based on the crash-optimized TRAXX generation P160 AC2 and impresses in the model with a detailed implementation with modern sound and LED technology.

Design & finish

The locomotive is designed in the classic metronom color scheme of white-yellow-blue and is finely printed with the metronom logo and car number. The design and roof design are based exactly on the TRAXX family. Finely detailed bogies, engravings and streamlined lines underline the faithfulness to the prototype.

Prototype information

The ME 146-12 is one of eight locomotives in the second metronom series. It is based on the TRAXX P160 AC2, the further development of the successful DB class 185.2, specially adapted for local passenger services with push-pull operation. The metronom locomotives travel 390 km a day on five lines and are a trademark of northern German regional transport.

Compatibility & system integration

The locomotive is ideally suited for DC digital systems and can be controlled digitally with the PluX22 interface. Thanks to the built-in sound decoder and buffer capacitor, it impresses with its excellent running performance and prototypical soundscape. It can be perfectly combined with metronom double-decker cars.
