Roco 7520023 H0 electric locomotive 1042.645, ÖBB, Ep.IV, AC-Sound Product Details
A total of 257 units of the universal electric locomotive series 1042 were built from 1963 onwards. From 1966, more powerful motors were installed to achieve a top speed of 150 km/h. These locomotives were given the series designation 1042.5. These locomotives were given the series designation 1042.5. The installation of a resistance brake gave them characteristic roof superstructures and reversed single-arm pantographs compared to the previously delivered locomotives. They were used in front of all types of trains, but mainly in front of fast passenger and freight trains, including cross-border trains to Germany. The assembly of the 1042.645 was carried out at Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Graz under the factory number 71120, while Siemens was in charge of the electrical part. After delivery in March 1975, it was based in Vienna South.
