The Roco 7580027 brings the classic electric locomotive E 42 015 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in a detailed realization for the TT scale. In the early design with four distinctive double fan grilles and fine running gear, it is an authentic model for Era III scenarios.

Design & finish

The model is equipped with fine printing, cleanly realized housing details and a finely detailed chassis. The four double fan grilles and the stiffening beading on the frame are typical of the first model series. Historical background

The Deutsche Reichsbahn initially used old electric locomotives such as the E 04, E 44 and E 94. With the increasing demand for more modern machines, the LEW Hennigsdorf developed the E 11 (express train) and E 42 (freight train) series. Between 1961 and 1977, a total of 387 locomotives of these families were built. The early series from 1962 and 1963 - such as the E 42 015 - were particularly recognizable due to their four double fan grilles.
