Description

Tillig 02054 TT steam locomotive BR 35.10, DR, Ep. IV Product Details

Tillig 02054 TT steam locomotive BR 35.10, DR, Ep. IV: Powerful steam technology on narrow tracks

The Tillig 02054 TT steam locomotive BR 35.10 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) from Era IV is a detailed replica of one of the most famous steam locomotives that was used in the East German express and passenger train service. This high-quality model in the nominal size TT combines nostalgic steam technology with modern precision and is a must for lovers of historic railroads.

The prototype: The class 35.10 steam locomotive

The class 35.10 was created in the 1950s and 1960s through the conversion of the pre-war class 23.10. The aim of the conversion measures was to adapt the locomotives to the increased requirements of modern train traffic. Equipped with a new boiler design and other technical modifications, the locomotives quickly proved themselves in scheduled service. The BR 35.10 was used in particular on main and branch lines in East Germany and pulled both passenger and freight trains.

The locomotives of this series were known for their reliability and versatility and were used well into the 1980s. Their characteristic shape with the large chimney, the steam cylinders on the sides and the striking tender makes them a classic among steam locomotives.

The German Reichsbahn in Era IV

Era IV (1965-1990) was a time of transition in which the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) gradually switched to modern diesel and electric locomotives. Nevertheless, steam locomotives such as the BR 35.10 continued to play an important role in train operations, especially on lines that were not yet electrified. The class 35.10 was a common sight on rural main and branch lines and was mainly used for express and passenger trains.

Tillig - Perfection in model making

The Tillig 02054 BR 35.10 steam locomotive impresses with its precise reproduction of the original and its high-quality workmanship. The boiler, the driver's cab details and the fine add-on parts such as handle bars and lines have been realized with the highest accuracy. The filigree spoked wheels and the realistically designed steering give the model a high degree of authenticity.

The driver's cab has been reproduced in detail and shows control elements and other technical details. The tender is also designed in great detail and offers space for coal stocks, which have been incorporated into the open tender. The lettering is cleanly and accurately applied according to historical models.

Technical details and digital expansion options

The model is equipped with a Next18 interface, which allows easy retrofitting with a digital decoder. This allows functions such as the lighting or other digital features to be controlled. The white LED lighting ensures realistic light changes in the direction of travel and increases the authenticity of the model.

With a length over buffers (LLP) of 189 mm, the locomotive is ideal for use on TT layouts and is perfect for operation on tight radii from 310 mm. The robust running gear ensures stable running, even at high speeds.

Color design and authentic lettering

The steam locomotive is painted in the typical black livery that was characteristic of DR steam locomotives in Era IV. The red running gear and the red spoked wheels provide a visual contrast and give the locomotive its classic look. The precisely applied road numbers and technical information correspond to the prototypes and round off the authentic appearance.

Care and maintenance

To maintain the functionality and appearance of the model in the long term, the wheels and pantographs should be cleaned regularly to ensure optimum power consumption. The moving parts of the control system should also be checked occasionally and lightly oiled.

Conclusion: A classic for TT railroaders and steam locomotive fans

The Tillig 02054 TT steam locomotive BR 35.10 is an impressive model that perfectly captures the performance and nostalgic charm of steam technology. With its detailed replica, digital expansion options and excellent workmanship, this locomotive is a highlight on any TT model railway layout. Whether in passenger train or freight train operation - this steam locomotive provides authentic scenarios and a nostalgic atmosphere.
