Tillig 04151 TT steam locomotive BR 003, DB, Ep. IV Product Details
An elegant DB express locomotive with a variety of details - the class 003 in Era IV
The Tillig 04151 TT steam locomotive BR 003 of the German Federal Railroad is an elaborately designed new construction 2026, which precisely implements numerous conversions typical of the late steam locomotive era. As an old version of the class 03 with a 2'2' T34 tender and 850 mm forerunners, it is a real highlight for fans of Era IV - functional, attractive and technically sophisticated.
Model information & technical data
The 1:120 scale model is designed for TT gauge and measures 199 mm over buffers. With a product weight of approx. 300 g including packaging, it offers stable running characteristics. A digital interface in accordance with NEM 664 is integrated - sound can be retrofitted. The minimum radius is 310 mm, which is suitable for use on typical TT layouts.
Technology & driving characteristics
The locomotive has four traction tires for excellent traction. The NEM coupler pocket and close coupler kinematics allow flexible train formation. Directional 3-light headlights are available at both ends of the locomotive - including lighting on the tender.
Appearance & special equipment
This model implements numerous characteristic conversions of the DB express locomotives:
- thin chimney
- angular inlet pipes
- Knorr Tolkien-Wülfel type air pump
- Witte wind deflectors
- Reflector lanterns, for the first time also on the tender
- Indusi system
- Silver boiler bands as a special visual highlight
This detailed realization gives the model an enormous closeness to the original and makes it a real collector's item on a scale of 1:120.
Prototype: Class 003 - the refined sister of the Prussian P 10
The class 003 is a rebuilt old version of the class 03, as it was used by the German Federal Railroad until the 1970s. Particularly in southern Germany - such as in the Rheine, Hamm or Bebra depots - it was used in front of express and fast trains. Its elegant appearance and numerous technical modifications made it a highlight of German steam locomotive technology in Era IV.
For model railroaders who demand technical sophistication and historical accuracy
The Tillig BR 003 combines the finest model technology with authentic German Federal Railroad flair of the late steam locomotive years. Ideal for use with UIC express train cars, conversion cars or in nostalgia operation - this locomotive is a must for every TT steam locomotive enthusiast.
