Viessmann 2680 Zweiwege-Unimog with Schubrahmen

The RailStar 2000 from Zweiweg, a company based in Leichlingen and part of the Zagro Group, is an innovation in the field of Unimog road-rail vehicles. The basic chassis is a U1600 of the 427 series with 240 hp.

The maximum tractive force of the vehicle is 85 kN, with a permitted trailer load of 1,200 tons. Compared to conventional Unimog road-rail vehicles, the all-round frame allows a significant increase in the permissible compressive and tractive forces to be absorbed. This also enables unrestricted adjustment of the vehicle in the maneuvering units. Buffer plates are located at the front and rear, and coupling and uncoupling in maneuvering mode takes place via swiveling automatic coupling rods. The permissible total weight is 12,500 kg, the smallest track radius that can be covered is 50 meters. The shunting combination is braked safely via the installed wagon braking system. A catenary construction wagon is attached, which is equipped with cable drums and assembly scaffolding. The patented drive unit, which is similar to that of the ROBEL, is housed in this catenary construction wagon and is optimally adapted to its flat design. At slow speed, in operation with sound, digital and analog, this work train will impress the technology enthusiast model railroader. It has electric propulsion, a white three-light headlights or red two-light signal at the front depending on the direction of travel, an amber flashing warning light on the roof, and a white or red two-light signal on the catenary construction car that can be turned off and depends on the direction of travel. The integrated sound module plays the whistle and various operation-dependent sounds. Digital decoder for DCC/MM and analog operation (AC/DC) with integrated power storage, RailCom compatible.
