Brawa 44385 combustion railcar VT 137 und sidecar VB 147 der DRG, Ep. II (AC) Product Details
About the Prototype:The VT 137 class was produced in 1934 and 1935, and they were used more extensively, especially in the Ruhr area and in the Dresden area. They were produced in two series that differed slightly in the vehicle layout, power control, and electrical equipment. The cars of the second series were used by the Navy as emergency power units during World War II and were completely decommissioned in 1945. Of the first series vehicles, 8 survived the war, of which 7 remained in the Soviet occupation zone. The one railcar that remained with the German Railroad completed its service at the depots Frankfurt/M 1, Hamburg-Altona, Flensburg and Bielefeld until it was withdrawn in 1964.At the DR, the railcars were housed at the Dresden-Pieschen depot. From there, the multiple units, which usually consisted of 2 railcars and 3 sidecars, usually ran to Zittau and Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz). In 1970, 5 cars were re-designated and used for shuttle service from Bad Schandau to Děčín. In 1977, these examples were also retired. In 1958, VT 137 063 had been converted to a measuring railcar and was still present in Berlin-Schöneweide with the designation 723 101-2 until 1997. After years of storage in Berlin, it ended up in the railcar museum in Dessau. There is also a preserved sidecar with the inventory number VB 145 027
About the model:This model from Brawa consists of a VT 137 cab control car and a VB 147 DRG sidecar from Era 2. Lighting that is appropriate for the era as well as the paint scheme make the model an eye-catcher along with the finely detailed bogies and the many applied details such as grab irons and steps. The wagons are equipped with a very detailed interior, which can be outstandingly set in scene by the interior lighting. In addition to this, the model has a driver's cab lighting and a front lighting, which can be digitally switched separately. This can be done with the help of the already installed digital decoder, which makes the model shine on a technical level in addition to the pre-installed sound.
