Fleischmann 7160020 N Series 64 steam locomotive, SNCB, Ep. III
The Fleischmann 7160020 Series 64 steam locomotive of the Belgian State Railways (SNCB) is an impressive model that faithfully reproduces the legendary Prussian P 8 in its Belgian version. With its elegant design and prototypical technology, this locomotive is a highlight for N scale model railroaders and collectors.
The history of the 64 series in Belgium
The P 8, known as the 38 series, is one of the most frequently used steam locomotives in Europe. After the two world wars, numerous examples were transferred to various railroad administrations, including the SNCB. In 1946, the Belgian locomotives were combined into the 64 series as part of the renumbering plan. The SNCB had a total of 148 of these locomotives, which were used reliably for passenger services.
Technical highlights of the 64 series steam locomotive
The Fleischmann 64 series impresses with its true-to-original view between the boiler and chassis, a trademark of this model series. The die-cast metal chassis ensures stability and smooth running.
