The locomotive 9902 was delivered to the Dutch State Railways (NS) in 1981 as 1616. Originally used for passenger service, it was later assigned to the NS-Cargo freight division. After changing companies several times and being taken out of service by DB Cargo in 2020, the locomotive was taken over by the Railexperts Group and renamed 9902. Today, it is used both for the company's own transport operations and for leasing to other rail transport companies (RUs).
