Fleischmann 7570029 N electric locomotive 1216 227-9, ÖBB, Ep.VI, DC-sound

The electric locomotives of the 1216 series (Taurus 3) are multi-system three-phase universal locomotives based on the technology of the Siemens EuroSprinter type family. The exterior and the high-speed bogies were adopted from the first two Taurus generations, but with a few changes to details. From 2006 to 2008, 50 locomotives were delivered to ÖBB. They are designed for operation on lines with a mains voltage of 15 kV/16.7 Hz, 25 kV/50 Hz and 3 kV/DC. The maximum output is 6,400 kW and the maximum speed is 230 km/h. They are used for national and international passenger and freight transportation. The locomotive must also have the relevant country packages for the individual countries. This includes the special equipment for train radio, display, voice output, train protection systems, lettering and additional equipment. The locomotives of variant C (1216.2) are equipped with an additional country package for the Czech Republic and Slovakia in addition to their use in Austria and Germany.
