Fleischmann New Items 2027: Discover N Gauge

From the DRG Class 38 to international electric locomotives and the ICE-S: discover the Fleischmann new items for 2027 already listed at Modellbahnshop. Locomotives, multiple units, rolling stock and starter sets open up new possibilities for your layout in 1:160 scale.

New models, practical train ideas

What does Fleischmann offer for 2027?

Fleischmann 7160045 N Steam Locomotive Class 38 3713 DRG Era II
Fleischmann 7160045 N Steam Locomotive Class 38 3713 DRG Era II

The Fleischmann new items for 2027 combine historic railways with modern passenger, freight and test operations. This shop selection contains 147 article numbers: 68 locomotives, ten railcar and multiple-unit variants, 67 rolling stock products and two starter sets. Each multi-piece set counts as one product; different technical versions are listed separately.

The way the models work together is particularly interesting. Compartment and baggage coaches complement the DRG steam locomotive, Austrian electric locomotives meet Eurofima coaches and the Rolling Highway, and DB Bahnbau and DB Netz provide themes for dedicated trains. The product overview helps you compare variants by article number, vehicle group, era and equipment.

The page is based on the shop list compiled on 28 October 2026; product identities and images were checked on 29 October 2026. It presents the new items listed here and does not claim to cover the manufacturer’s entire range. The product cards already include the corresponding images. Detailed descriptions are available on the linked product pages. Each product page remains the reference for the exact specification.

With Classes 38 3713, 62 005, 064 305-6, 01 168-4 and 64 1455-1, the list offers five steam locomotive subjects in two versions each. Articles 7160045 and 7170045 represent DRG in Era II; compartment coach set 6260128 and baggage coach 6260129 provide a matching historical theme.

For Deutsche Bundesbahn, highlights include Class 62 and passenger train sets 6260114 and 6260115. Four-axle rebuilt coaches 6260116 to 6260119 extend the Era IV coach range. When comparing locomotive variants, distinguish explicitly between DCC and sound: DCC alone does not promise sound functions.

The powered vehicle range also includes a railbus with trailer, a Class 515 battery railcar with driving trailer and a Class 642 diesel multiple unit. These formations provide a starting point for manageable operations with small stops and short platforms. Still check the actual model length and minimum radius of your chosen version.

DB Bahnbau features Classes 143 and 218, rebuilt coaches, stake wagons and self-discharging wagons. Use these groups as a planning starting point; they do not automatically establish a historically documented coach formation.

For Railpro, six-piece display 6660185 and the six individual articles 6660192 to 6660197 are listed separately. This matters when assembling a train: the display and individual wagons are distinct order items. Steel train and potash wagon sets offer further starting points for longer formations, whose lengths should match your layout’s usable tracks.

Six approaches to coherent formations

Start with a railway operator and an era. Then choose the locomotive version and add rolling stock for its intended use. The following combinations bring together related themes from the new items list. The same locomotive class does not mean the same equipment. Compare the standard version, explicitly labelled DCC model and sound variant using their full article numbers. For a later conversion, the fitted decoder interface, available space and manufacturer’s instructions matter. This overview does not assume a common interface across all new items.

When planning a conversion
The instructions for the specific vehicle are decisive

Choose a decoder only after checking these details. Lighting, switchable functions and possible analogue operation of digital models also depend on the version. This helps avoid unsuitable purchases based on a merely similar product name.

Fleischmann 5130006 N Z21 start newGen Starter Set 245+RE App DCC Era VI

The supplied list includes analogue starter set 5160006 and set 5130006, described as Z21 start newGen App DCC. First decide how you want to control your model railway. Then compare the stated pack contents and plan additions such as track, points or rolling stock.

Useful guides cover Fleischmann track sets, piccolo track with ballast bed and track without ballast bed. Track geometry and height should be compatible; sharing a gauge does not replace this check.

N gauge as the basis for your plans

The small scale offers plenty of scope for complete trains. Even so, decide early whether you want to depict a branch line, an international main line or a shunting area. A short railcar needs a different operating concept from a long Eurofima formation. New models are easier to choose once you know the train length and intended use.

A short personal list helps with an initial comparison: existing vehicles, desired era, track system and planned control system. Add the article numbers of suitable extensions. For rolling stock, compare the contents with sets you already own; for locomotives, focus on the technical version. This encourages considered additions and avoids accidental duplicates.

An era is an initial guide, not proof that every possible combination ran together on the prototype. Livery, running number, country and operating role refine your choice. For a freely designed layout, you can of course run different themes alongside each other. To recreate a particular train, also compare the models with photographs and reliable prototype documentation.

The N gauge overview covers space requirements, track systems and layout planning in more detail. Use it to check your own constraints before choosing a longer formation or a new operating theme.

New items in the video and catalogue

The video embedded in the Fleischmann manufacturer section of Modellbahnshop presents the 2027 new items catalogue. It adds moving images to the overview. To compare models afterwards, enter a featured article number directly into the search on this page.

The official Fleischmann catalogue section lists the new items for 2027. Use it to explore the range and the shop product pages to make your selection. A catalogue entry alone does not establish a delivery date for an individual model.

Questions about the new models

Can I suggest a new Fleischmann model for 2028?

Yes. In the 2028 wish list builder you can save ideas, describe your desired model and copy the text or prepare an email to Denis. You send the message yourself in your email application.

Have the Fleischmann new items for 2027 already been presented?

Yes. Fleischmann lists the new items for 2027 in its official catalogue section. This page brings together 147 products from the supplied selection that are already listed at Modellbahnshop.

Which gauge are the listed models?

All 147 products in this selection are N gauge. These models use 1:160 scale. H0, TT, Z, 0, 1 and G are not included in this new items list.

Does DCC automatically mean sound?

No. DCC describes the digital technology. Sound is additional equipment and is assigned in this overview only to products labelled accordingly. This is particularly relevant when comparing different steam locomotive and driving trailer versions.

Are all products displayed immediately?

Yes. With JavaScript enabled, all 147 product cards are generated from the product data included in this page. The search always covers the entire selection. Images load as you scroll. The refresh button checks all products against the shop when requested.

How do I find a particular version?

Enter the complete Fleischmann article number, MBS number or EAN. Alternatively, search by locomotive class or railway operator, then narrow the results by product group, era and equipment.

Why are the display and individual wagons listed separately?

They have their own article numbers. For the Railpro ballast wagons, the selection includes both display 6660185 and six individually listed wagons. Compare the pack contents before combining several order items.

Are all listed models new designs?

The description “new item for 2027” alone does not establish this. A new design, livery variant or reissue can only be distinguished using the relevant manufacturer’s information. This overview therefore does not claim new tooling for every article.

What should I consider when planning long trains?

Check the minimum radius, couplings, train length, gradients and usable length of station tracks. For sets, also establish whether additional coaches, a driving trailer or further technical components are needed for your desired formation.
