The two-way Unimog U423 in fire department design combines high flexibility with robust operational readiness - perfect for emergencies, maintenance work and technical assistance along the railroad line. Two-way vehicles such as this model are used both on roads and on tracks and therefore offer decisive advantages when it comes to rapid relocation to the scene of an emergency. Especially in Era VI, such vehicles have become an integral part of modern rail operations - whether for railroad companies, light rail vehicles, streetcars or track construction companies. Developed by Zagro from Bad Rappenau, the model stands for German engineering in the service of infrastructure.

Technical details of the model

The model is in N scale and is based on a new design that will be released for N scale for the first time in 2025. The Unimog is digitized with a Zimo DC/DCC board and is suitable for operation on analogue and digital layouts. A buffer storage unit ensures trouble-free running performance, and drive is provided on both axles for maximum traction.

Fire department design with functional equipment

Typical for the fire department, the model has an eye-catching design and is equipped with white/red continuous lighting and switchable rotating beacons. These features ensure a realistic appearance during operation and increase the play value on the model layout. The metal chassis gives the model stability and a realistic weight.

True to the original thanks to the Mercedes-Benz license

The model is officially licensed by Mercedes-Benz Trucks, which guarantees a faithful replica. The coupling with NEM plug-in shaft at the rear enables easy integration into vehicle formations on the model railroad.
