An LGB track set combines coordinated LGB track , turnouts or accessories for a clearly defined purpose. A starter circle creates the first closed running route. Extension sets can later turn this circle into an oval with a siding, passing loop or station track.
LGB track has a track gauge of 45 millimetres, solid brass rails and robust plastic sleepers. It has no moulded roadbed. Outdoors, it can therefore be laid on a well-drained ballast foundation, while paving slabs, modules or seasonal layouts are also possible on terraces and indoors.
The four products listed here contain only track, connection and control components. Locomotives and wagons are not included. Suitable vehicles and complete starter sets are available in the LGB manufacturer range .
Important distinction: LGB 19904 also includes a controller and power supply. The Modellbahnshop circle set MBSET10356 consists of track, a connection cable and track clips and therefore requires an existing suitable control system.

The smallest radius determines which vehicles can later be operated safely. Before constructing the track, check the stated minimum radius of the longest intended locomotive and wagon.
Both sets use twelve 11000 curved tracks with an angle of 30 degrees. They differ primarily in the included power supply, controller and number of track clips.

Sets 19901 and 19902 expand an existing R1 circle. They contain manually operated turnouts and the suitable straight or curved track required for a geometrically complete arrangement.
The simple circle becomes an oval with an additional terminal siding. Wagons can be stored, goods can be loaded or initial shunting movements can be performed.
Two turnouts form a parallel passing track. Trains can meet, one train can wait or a locomotive can move from one end of its train to the other.

The track sets can be adapted to the property, terrace and intended operating style using additional straight and curved tracks , LGB turnouts and track accessories .
The standard straight forms station tracks and extends a circle into an oval. Two sections are equivalent to one 600-millimetre straight.
Short straights and adjustable track 10090 close small gaps without requiring the brass rails to be cut.
Twelve sections create a complete circle. The 600-millimetre radius is compact but also determines which vehicles can be used.
Broader curves improve smooth running and appearance. Generous radii are especially beneficial on prominent visible routes.
The straight route measures 300 millimetres, while the branch follows R1 through 30 degrees. An electric drive can be added later.
Larger turnouts require more space but allow long vehicles to branch more smoothly and with a more convincing appearance.
Insulated tracks separate storage, feedback or reversing-loop sections. Electrical planning should be completed before the track is ballasted permanently.
Joiners align the brass profiles and conduct current. Track clips reduce the risk of track sections pulling apart on temporary layouts.
Weather-resistant track is not maintenance-free. A load-bearing foundation, drainage, protected electrical equipment and regular inspections prevent many later operating problems.
Define paths, flower beds, roots, mowing edges and maintenance access first. Allow for vehicle overhang on curves.
Test the longest wagon on R1 and the turnouts. Choose a broader radius where sufficient space is available.
Compacted, water-permeable ballast reduces settlement and prevents standing water beneath the sleepers.
Test the complete route and turnout positions first. Only then add ballast, edging stones or permanent fixings.
Provide additional wiring for long routes. Power supplies and command stations belong in a dry location.
Remove leaves, soil and plants and inspect the railheads, joiners and moving turnout components.

MBSET10356 provides the circle, cable and track clips.
LGB 19901 adds a completed terminal siding.
LGB 19902 creates a complete passing loop.

The same model track gauge does not automatically mean the same scale. LGB primarily represents metre-gauge prototypes in nominal size IIm, while Gauge 1 also uses 45-millimetre track but represents standard gauge at a scale of 1:32.
