The rotating, radially acting cleaning mechanism runs over the rail head and can be adjusted via a height-adjustment screw. Thanks to the special arrangement of the bogies, the rail grinding car runs particularly smoothly in curves and switch areas. A curved-track steering mechanism for the polishing discs ensures optimal cleaning performance even on complex track layouts.

The battery unit carried on the rail grinding car and charged via the track voltage provides a buffer for the cleaning system’s motor during brief power interruptions.
