Lux Modellbau 9748 TT wheel cleaning system 'desktop unit with decoder' analogue and digital Product Details
Rad cleaning systems for all TT track and control systems, analog and digital, clean geared and non-geared wheels of rail-bound model railway vehicles, removing oil and dirt residues from the wheels. This ensures clean wheel treads of locomotives and cars, degreased traction tires, and operational safety of model railway vehicles.
The TT wheel cleaning system, supplied with driving voltage (analog or digital), and thus navigable, cleans geared and non-geared wheels of rail-bound model railway vehicles from oil and dirt residues. The device is equally suitable for locomotives and cars and can be integrated into model railway systems for the traversal of complete trains.
The wheel cleaning technology, powered by a 12-volt DC Faulhaber¹ motor, oscillates two polishing rods beneath the locomotive and car wheels. This results in a cleaning effect on the wheel treads of locomotives and cars. The wheel treads rolling on the 183 mm long cleaning rods (see image) are completely cleaned, even with larger wheel diameters.
With the application of a low driving voltage, the wheels rotate while the locomotive is stationary. Non-driven wheels (e.g., car wheels) are cleaned by rolling the wheel tread (movement) on the oscillating polishing rods. The car is manually moved or by the pulling or pushing locomotive. Manual time-consuming cleaning of wheel treads is eliminated. Your locomotives and cars receive clean wheel treads for optimal contact between rail and wheel.
The motor of the wheel cleaning system is operated with regulated direct voltage from 0-12 volts (DC). Suitable supply voltage is provided by commercial model railway transformers. In digital mode, a locomotive decoder with high-frequency motor control is connected upstream to the motor.
Both the built-in and table devices have identical cleaning surfaces. While the built-in device is integrated into the model railway system, we supply the table device ready for use mounted on an acrylic glass base. For digital control, the wheel cleaning system comes with a system-compatible decoder (can also be retrofitted). Control-specific decoders (possibly at an additional cost) are installed according to your requirements. Please specify when ordering.
The built-in wheel cleaning system should be installed in a readily accessible location, preferably in a side track of the model railway system. For installation, a rectangular track board cutout of length 300 mm, width 40 mm, and height 55 mm (from the track board top edge) is required.
