The class Ty2 steam locomotives of the Polish State Railways were in service from 1942. They were wartime locomotives of the class 52 of the German Reichsbahn. After the Second World War, 1,207 locomotives of this class remained with the PKP. Until the end of steam traction, the Ty2 was the largest locomotive series in Poland. Several locomotives of this series have been preserved to this day.
