Roco 7190010 TT steam locomotive 086 400-9, DB, Ep.IV, DC-sound Product Details
The Roco steam locomotive 086 400-9 of the German Federal Railway (DB) in Era IV is a new construction featuring a variant with De Limon wheel flange lubrication. The coal bunker is equipped with a welded top (construction state 1972), and both the leading and trailing wheelsets have 9 spokes. Additionally, the locomotive is fitted with DB reflector lamps and offers switchable cab lighting in digital operation.
After the end of World War II, 386 machines of the class 86 were located in West Germany. Most of these locomotives could be restored, allowing the DB to operate 378 of this class in 1952. Their duties included not only classic branch line trains but also regular services for express trains and shunting in freight yards. The last machines were withdrawn from service in the DB in 1974, designated as class 086.
