Roco 7300102 H0 Diesel-electric double locomotive V 188 002, DB, Ep. III - Powerhouse on two units

With the Roco 7300102 V 188 002 diesel-electric double locomotive, you can bring an extraordinary edition model of the German Federal Railroad in Era III to your H0 layout. This form variant double locomotive in red paintwork has been elaborately detailed and technically implemented at the highest level. The double locomotive consists of two permanently coupled units that are both fully motorized - for maximum tractive power and an impressive appearance.

Historically inspired powerhouse of the post-war era

The V 188 002 was originally developed for military use in 1941/42 as type D 311 and was used to transport heavy railroad guns. After the war, the Deutsche Bundesbahn took over two of these locomotives for heavy freight train and push-pull service - especially on the Spessart ramp. The V 188 002 was in service until 1972 and is now one of the most striking double locomotives in DB history.

Shape variant with many new details

The Era IIIb version has a red livery with numerous special technical features. These include a ventilation component on the roof with a mushroom-shaped cover, a battery box on each half of the locomotive and openwork roof vents. The fully reproduced transition area between the locomotive halves and a detailed engine room round off the high-quality appearance.

State-of-the-art lighting and electrics

In digital operation, the model impresses with numerous lighting functions: switchable driver's cab, driver's desk and engine room lighting as well as a 3 headlights depending on the direction of travel and two red tail lights. The use of LED technology ensures long-lasting and realistic illumination of all relevant areas.

Technically powerful and versatile

With four powered axles, four traction tires, flywheel mass and a length over buffers of 259 mm, the V 188 002 is ideal for heavy freight train service on your layout. It can be used on radii from 358 mm without any problems. The locomotive has a PluX22 interface for simple digitization and is equipped with an NEM 362 shaft and close-coupling kinematics - for realistic operational representations.
