With the Roco 7320102 diesel-electric double locomotive V 188 002, you can bring an impressive unique model from the German Federal Railroad from Era III to your AC layout. Unique prototype with an eventful history

Built in 1941/42 as type D 311 for military use, the V 188 002 was used by the DB after the war in heavy freight train and push-pull service - especially on the Spessart ramp. Its striking double design, consisting of two permanently coupled, fully motorized units, made it a real powerhouse. It was active until 1972 before being scrapped in 1973 - a real piece of engineering history.

The model is painted red with perforated roof vents, mushroom-shaped roof ventilation, separately attached plug-in parts and an elaborately reproduced engine room. The complete design of the transition area between the locomotive halves and frame panels with four sand boxes each underline the high level of detail of this model.

Top digital equipment for realistic operation

Thanks to the PluX22 decoder (MS450P22) and the latest digital technology, the model has a powerful "Dynamic Sound" package with a deep sound image. In addition, motor-driven fans provide a visual highlight. The lighting includes 3 headlights depending on the direction of travel, two red tail lights as well as digitally switchable driver's cab, driver's desk, switch box and engine room lighting - all in LED technology.

With four powered axles, four traction tires, flywheel mass and a buffer length of 259 mm, the V 188 002 is ideal for use on medium to large layouts. The minimum radius of 358 mm makes it safe to operate, even with more complex track layouts. The NEM 362 shafts with close coupler kinematics guarantee smooth vehicle operation even in long train formations.
