Roco 7310102 H0 Diesel-electric double locomotive V 188 002, DB, Ep. III, DC sound - Giant with "Dynamic Sound" power
With the Roco 7310102 V 188 002 diesel-electric double locomotive, you can experience an extraordinary model of Era III with full digital equipment. This powerful double locomotive from the German Federal Railroad not only impresses with its historical significance and striking design, but also with its impressive "Dynamic Sound" package and numerous switchable lighting and technical functions - a real highlight for demanding model railroaders.
Striking shape with authentic details
The model shows the double locomotive V 188 002 in the typical Era IIIb design with red paintwork and characteristic components such as a mushroom-shaped covered vent pipe on the roof and a battery box for each half of the locomotive. The two permanently coupled locomotive halves are fully motorized and offer a detailed reproduction of the transition area as well as an elaborately designed engine room.
Digital highlights with sound and function
This digital version is equipped with a PluX22 decoder of type MS450P22 and delivers a powerful, deep sound thanks to the "Dynamic Sound" package. Motor-driven roof fans are also integrated - for an even more realistic operating experience. The extensive lighting equipment includes a direction-dependent 3 headlights, two red tail lights as well as separately switchable driver's cab, driver's desk, switch box and engine room lighting.
Technically impressive and suitable for operation
Four powered axles with a total of four traction tires, a flywheel mass and close coupling kinematics with NEM 362 shaft ensure the best running characteristics and high tractive power. Use on radii from 358 mm is possible without any problems. With a length over buffers of 259 mm, the double locomotive fits perfectly on medium-sized to large layouts and impresses in heavy freight train and push-pull service.
Military heritage in civilian use
Built as type D 311 for the Wehrmacht in 1941/42, the V 188 002 was later taken over by DB for freight transport. After operations on the Spessart ramp and in the Franconian region, its career ended in 1972, making the locomotive not only a technical rarity, but also a symbol of the repurposing of former military technology for civilian use after the war.
