Roco 7510209 H0 Electric locomotive 1116 014-2, ÖBB, Ep. VI, DC sound
The Roco 7510209 1116 014-2 electric locomotive from the Austrian Federal Railways is a detailed conversion of the modern Taurus series for Era VI. With authentic "Rail Cargo Hungaria" lettering, extensive digital equipment and realistic sound, this model is a must for all model railroaders who want to recreate the cross-border freight traffic of the ÖBB in H0 scale.
Prototype and operational history
The Taurus series 1016 was put into service in 1999 and initiated the modernization of the ÖBB electric locomotives. This was soon followed by further development as a dual-system version of the 1116 series. 282 locomotives were built in total by 2006. With an output of 6,400 kW and a maximum speed of 230 km/h, they can be used universally. Since the purchase of the freight division of Hungarian Railways in 2008, several of these locomotives have been operating for Rail Cargo Hungaria, a subsidiary of the Rail Cargo Group. The 1116 014 is equipped with a country package for Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.
Exclusive model details
The model features the distinctive "Rail Cargo Hungaria" lettering on the side wall. Different buffer skirts are shown for maximum faithfulness to the prototype: Siemens and Krauss Maffei on front 1, only Siemens on front 2. This means that the locomotive is also authentically reproduced in detail. This accurate printing and fine engravings make the model a visual highlight.
Digital equipment with sound
The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 digital decoder (MS450P22) and has extensive sound functions that make the model acoustically realistic. The headlights and marker lights change over depending on the direction of travel and can be switched in digital operation. The model also has a separately switchable high beam, which makes operation even more realistic. All lighting functions are equipped with modern LED technology.
Technical features
The locomotive runs on four powered axles, one of which is fitted with traction tires, and thus achieves a high tractive force. A flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics. With a length of 221 mm over buffers and a minimum radius of 358 mm, it can be used flexibly on various H0 layouts. The NEM 362 coupler pocket with close coupler kinematics enables problem-free operation in different train formations. It is also Z21 cab compatible, which provides even more operating fun.
