Description

Fleischmann 7560073 N electric locomotive180 015-0, DB AG, Ep. VI Product Details

Fleischmann 7560073 N Electric locomotive 180 015-0, DB AG, Ep. VI - Two-system technology in miniature form

The Fleischmann 7560073 brings a technically and historically exciting prototype to your N-gauge layout: the DB AG 180 015-0 electric locomotive - a dual-system locomotive with an eventful East-West history. Finely detailed, with numerous separately applied parts and an elaborate roof design, it is a real highlight for Era VI fans and technology enthusiasts. Perfectly suited for use in cross-border traffic and on layouts with modern international train compositions.

From the GDR to DB AG - the history of the BR 180

In the 1980s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn needed a locomotive that could run on both the 15 kV/16⅔ Hz alternating current system of the GDR and the 3 kV direct current system of the ČSSR. The solution: a cooperation with the Škoda locomotive factory, based on the ČSD series ES 499.1. The BR 230, later BR 180, was developed with technology from both countries - a technical symbol for international rail transport. After reunification and takeover by DB AG, these locomotives continued to be used in cross-border traffic.

Detailed model technology for the highest demands

The model of the 180 015-0 impresses with its filigree design and numerous separately attached components. Particularly striking: the detailed roof design with precisely reproduced pantographs and insulators. The locomotive has direction-dependent LED headlights (3x white / 2x red) and is prepared for digital use with a Next18 interface.

Powerful driving characteristics on a scale of 1:160

Four axles are powered, two of them with traction tires - ideal for prototypical train operation, even on gradients. The NEM 355 coupling shaft with close coupling kinematics ensures exact car transitions. With a compact length of 105 mm, the locomotive is perfect for use on N-gauge layouts with tight radii from 192 mm.

Secure a piece of railroad history now!
