ICE T Class 411
A newly engineered tilting multiple unit could connect classic and modern DB AG long-distance themes. Multi-car expansion sets could support a complete train family.
Which locomotive is still missing from the H0 range? Which modern multiple unit should appear as a complete train family? Which TT vehicles could expand the range? And which Austrian narrow-gauge railway is still waiting for the right H0e model?
The page “ROCO New Products 2027 | Model Wishes & Ideas” is not intended to be a supposed preview of a manufacturer programme that is not yet known. Instead, it asks the question layout operators and collectors discuss every year: which model would genuinely expand the ROCO range in a useful way?
ROCO is especially strong in H0, covering everything from steam locomotives and classic Deutsche Bundesbahn and Deutsche Reichsbahn vehicles to modern FLIRT, Railjet and Vectron trains. The range also includes TT models and a long-established H0e world based on Austrian narrow-gauge railways. Z21 additionally provides a comprehensive digital control family. A wish for 2027 therefore does not have to be another locomotive.
Designs that can support several useful variants are particularly valuable. A multiple unit can appear for several operators. A shunting locomotive creates genuine operating tasks on many layouts. A new passenger coach can finally turn an existing locomotive family into a complete train. In H0e, even one additional vehicle type can turn a small track plan into a complete Austrian narrow-gauge railway.
A particularly useful proposal includes not only the prototype but also the gauge, preferred era, railway company, typical train formation and desired technology. A shunting locomotive might benefit from a digitally controlled coupling. Interior lighting and destination displays could be more important on a modern multiple unit. The wish workshop below allows all of these points to be combined.
The official 2027 section further down the page therefore accepts only current product pages that explicitly state “New Product 2027”, “New Products: 2027” or another unambiguous 2027 new-product designation.
These proposals are not announcements. They are intended to start discussions. Anyone interested in an idea can add it to a personal wish list and later transfer it automatically into the message sent to Modellbahnshop.
A newly engineered tilting multiple unit could connect classic and modern DB AG long-distance themes. Multi-car expansion sets could support a complete train family.
Battery trains are becoming increasingly important on regional routes. A model could reproduce a modern line that is not electrified throughout in a particularly convincing way.
A contemporary implementation with current electronics could cover classic InterCity, InterRegio, tourist and test-train subjects over several decades.
A Deutsche Bundesbahn battery railcar would form an attractive historical counterpart to today’s battery trains. Small stations and short platforms would be ideal for it.
The new shunting-locomotive family invites further DB, DB AG, museum and private-railway conditions. Variants of this kind have considerable operating value.
Measurement, inspection and maintenance vehicles create completely different operating patterns from normal passenger trains and could bring realistic activity to construction sites.
This classic Deutsche Bundesbahn diesel locomotive could cover passenger, InterCity, regional and engineering-train themes in TT. Numerous liveries would support a long-term model family.
A classic Deutsche Bundesbahn electric locomotive would add important express, regional and special-train subjects to TT and could cover several eras.
Dual-mode traction would expand current TT freight themes by connecting operation under overhead wires with industrial sidings and non-electrified branch sections.
A current Mariazell Railway vehicle would form an exciting contrast to the historic Class 1099 and make a present-day narrow-gauge layout possible.
A technically updated narrow-gauge diesel locomotive with detailed lighting, a Next18 interface and sound options could be useful for many Austrian layouts.
Not every wish needs a locomotive. Restaurant, driving, couchette or supplementary coaches can finally make existing train families complete and prototypical.
Modern freight trains need enough different wagon variants. Further pocket and container wagons could make long international block trains possible.
Class 290, V 100 and other shunting locomotives would benefit greatly from being able to uncouple wagons directly from the digital command station.
Convenient local management of locomotive images, functions, CV data and train formations could make the Z21 system even easier to use with large vehicle fleets.
| Gauge | Scale / Track Gauge | ROCO Strength | Possible Wish Direction for 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| H0 | 1:87 · 16.5 mm | largest vehicle and wagon programme | new multiple units, shunting vehicles, train families and AC/DC variants |
| TT | 1:120 · 12 mm | DR, DB and international vehicles | additional DB classics and modern freight technology |
| H0e | 1:87 · 9 mm | Austrian narrow gauge | modern Mariazell Railway, ÖBB and NÖVOG subjects |
The Z21 family ranges from the entry-level z21start to the black Z21 and the high-output Z21 XL. Wishes for 2027 therefore do not have to focus solely on locomotives. Software, feedback, locomotive management and general operating convenience can also be included.
Convenient backup of locomotive images, function names and personal settings would be useful for large fleets.
Vehicle feedback could be integrated even more clearly into normal operation in both the app and track diagram.
Coupling sequences, shunting lights and macro functions could be made particularly easy to access for layout operators.
A layout should remain convenient to operate without a permanent internet connection. A local network and open interfaces are especially valuable for this.
Shunting and local-freight locomotives gain considerable operating value when wagons can be uncoupled without manual intervention.
Cab lighting, tail lights, high beam and shunting lights should be independently controllable in a sensible way on high-specification digital models.
Small shunting locomotives and narrow-gauge vehicles in particular benefit from reliably designed energy storage.
Alongside fully equipped sound models, more affordable versions should remain available for self-digitisers and analogue operators.
Particularly useful examples include shunting lights, separately switchable tail lights, digital couplings, interior lighting and reliable slow-speed running.
The wish workshop creates a structured message from the gauge, model type, prototype, era and desired technology. When the e-mail button is selected, a prepared message addressed to denis@korn.de opens. You can review and edit the text there before sending it yourself.
Recipient: denis@korn.de. The page does not send a message automatically. A prepared e-mail is opened in the visitor’s own mail application.
The live finder places products here only when their current Modellbahnshop product page explicitly states “New Product 2027”, “New Products: 2027” or another unambiguous 2027 new-product designation.
The finder searches current ROCO product groups in the webshop. This shows which vehicle families already exist and whether a new wish should really be a completely new tooling, another gauge or simply a missing variant.
Current ROCO product pages will be checked when this section approaches the viewport.
No. As of August 2026, no regular official ROCO new-products programme for 2027 has been published. The model ideas on this page are explicitly wishes.
ROCO is particularly strong in H0. The manufacturer also offers models in TT and H0e as well as track and digital technology.
Possible wishes include a newly engineered ICE T, a Mireo Plus B or a technically updated Class 120. These examples are not confirmed products.
Possible ideas include Class 218, Class 110 or a modern Vectron Dual Mode. These vehicles are also only wish models on this page.
Further Austrian narrow-gauge vehicles, modern Mariazell Railway subjects or technically updated classic locomotives are possible directions.
Yes. The wish workshop is explicitly intended for digital command stations, app functions, feedback, operating convenience and other technical ideas as well.
The wish workshop opens a prepared e-mail addressed to denis@korn.de. The visitor reviews and sends the message themselves.
The live finder checks current product pages. The official 2027 section displays only models whose product page explicitly contains a 2027 new-product designation.
No. Product pages containing a clear notice that an item is no longer part of the range are rejected before display.
