YaMoRC YD7403 Universeller 3,5-A-Booster Product Details
YaMoRC YD7403 Universal 3.5 amp booster
The YaMoRC YD7403 is a universal booster with an output current of 3.5 amps that has been specially developed to increase the performance of digital track systems. With fully galvanically isolated inputs and various interfaces, it offers versatility and safety - ideal for more complex digital systems with multiple control points, feedback modules or long track sections.
Technical features & equipment
The booster accepts several standard inputs, including LocoNet-B, Roco B-BUS, DCC-CDE or Track Sniffer. It automatically selects the active input and indicates this via an LED. For safety and control, it has a local GO/STOP button that can be used to start the booster or switch it off in the event of a short circuit. It also supports RailCom cut-outs, measures track current and monitors the temperature of the H-Bridge MOSFET output stages.
Electrical data & operating conditions
The YD7403 operates with an input voltage of 15-19 V DC and delivers an output power of up to 3.5 A, realized by modern H-Bridge MOSFET technology. Active short-circuit protection is integrated, as is automatic short-circuit signaling via LocoNet, CDE or B-BUS interfaces. Cooling is passive, as no separate heat sink is required.
Application & compatibility
The device is suitable for model railroaders who need to amplify their track sections or traction currents - for example with long routes or many vehicles at the same time. It can be easily combined with YaMoRC feedback modules, command stations or in environments where several protocols are used in parallel. Configuration is carried out via ES-PGM-LINK.

Frequently asked questions
| Question: | What is the YaMoRC YD7403 booster used for? |
| Answer: | The YD7403 supplies up to 3.5 amps of output current to an additional digitally powered track section. It is suitable for larger layouts, long routes or operating areas with several vehicles drawing power at the same time. The booster does not replace a digital command station; it amplifies the station’s track signal for a separate power district. |
| Question: | Which digital command stations and inputs are compatible with the booster? |
| Answer: | The YD7403 supports LocoNet-B, Roco B-BUS, DCC-CDE and Track Sniffer inputs. This allows it to be combined with various digital command stations and system environments. The unit automatically detects the active input and indicates it with an LED. |
| Question: | Which power supply does the YD7403 require? |
| Answer: | The booster requires a DC input voltage of 15 to 19 volts and provides a maximum output current of 3.5 amps. The selected power supply should match the electrical requirements of the layout and the required output. A power supply is not explicitly listed as included in the product information and may therefore need to be obtained separately. |
| Question: | Which protection and monitoring functions does the booster provide? |
| Answer: | The inputs are galvanically isolated, and active short-circuit protection is integrated. Short circuits can be reported through the LocoNet, CDE or B-BUS interfaces. The unit also monitors track current and the temperature of its MOSFET output stage. A local GO/STOP button allows the booster to be switched on or stopped directly. |
| Question: | Does the YD7403 support RailCom, and which scales can use it? |
| Answer: | The booster supports the cut-out in the track signal required for RailCom. Suitable RailCom components are still required for actual feedback detection. The YD7403 is not restricted to a particular model railway scale, provided that the voltage, current requirements and digital system are compatible. Configuration is performed through ES-PGM-LINK. The recommended age is 14 years and above. |
