VT 24 / Class 624
A newly engineered Deutsche Bundesbahn diesel multiple unit would be ideal for regional services from Eras III to V and would provide a complete train concept even on medium-sized layouts.
Which H0 locomotive is still missing from the centre-contact railway? Which multiple unit should finally receive a completely new tooling? What would Z-gauge modellers and Gauge 1 collectors like to see? And which new C Track, digital or Start up idea would genuinely enrich Märklin in 2027?
The page “Märklin New Products 2027 | Model Wishes & Ideas” is not an invented preview. Instead, it collects the vehicles, coaches, wagons, track components and technical functions that Märklin enthusiasts still miss on their layouts. Before a new model year begins, this perspective is especially interesting: a useful new product does not always have to be spectacular. Sometimes only one particular driving trailer or a new running number is needed to turn several individual models into a credible train.
Märklin covers several very different model railway worlds. The H0 centre-contact system is the main focus and combines vehicles, C Track, K Track, starter sets and digital technology. Z gauge makes complete layouts possible in 1:220 scale. Gauge 1, by contrast, presents vehicles at particularly large size and with considerable detail. Start up and my world additionally address beginners and younger railway enthusiasts. Wishes for 2027 can therefore be correspondingly broad.
The most convincing model ideas complement existing Märklin worlds in a useful way. A VT 24 or Class 624, for example, could represent Deutsche Bundesbahn regional transport. A Class 146.1 would fit double-deck trains. A complete ICE L train family could expand modern long-distance traffic. Historical modellers may instead wish for an E 16, an SBB C 4/5 or a particular express steam locomotive.
The chronological classification is particularly important for 2027. Some Märklin models that have already been announced may not be delivered until 2027. They nevertheless belong to an earlier new-products programme. The live finder on this page therefore ignores delivery dates and accepts only an explicit product-page designation such as “News: 2027”.
The wish workshop can therefore remain imaginative, while the official product area accepts only genuinely confirmed 2027 shop products.
The following proposals are explicitly not announced products. They are intended to encourage discussion. Favourites can be marked locally and later transferred automatically into your own wish e-mail.
A newly engineered Deutsche Bundesbahn diesel multiple unit would be ideal for regional services from Eras III to V and would provide a complete train concept even on medium-sized layouts.
This modern regional-traffic locomotive would strongly complement double-deck trains and could appear in several DB Regio operating conditions.
A complete modern long-distance train comprising coaches, driving trailer and matching white Vectron locomotive would considerably expand Era VI operation.
This characteristic early electric locomotive would fit Bavarian and early Deutsche Bundesbahn trains particularly well and could support several historical variants.
A modern model of the preserved oil-fired Class 01.10 locomotive could combine present-day special-train operation with classic express steam-locomotive technology.
This unusual articulated overnight train would be a characteristic Märklin collector subject: technically demanding, historically unusual and instantly recognisable as a complete train.
A Swiss steam locomotive would expand the historical SBB range and provide an interesting contrast to Märklin’s familiar Swiss electric classics.
Suitable passenger coaches prepared for the Märklin interior-lighting system could turn existing Swiss locomotives into a complete themed train.
Z gauge has a strong main-line tradition. A current two- or three-part regional train would allow modern local passenger operation on very small layouts.
A small tank locomotive would suit the scale perfectly. A short station, goods shed and only a few wagons would already provide varied Z-gauge operation.
A compact Gauge 1 shunting locomotive with digitally controlled coupling, lighting and sound could provide particularly intensive operation on modular layouts.
An additional slim curved turnout or compact double-slip crossing could make station approaches considerably easier to plan in a prototypical way.
A small shunting locomotive with Telex coupling, several wagons, a Mobile Station and uncoupling tasks could teach children and beginners genuine railway operation instead of only continuous running.
A modern hand controller could combine larger locomotive lists, improved favourites, convenient function symbols and easy backup of personal vehicle data.
| Gauge | Scale | Strength | Interesting Wish Direction for 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| H0 | 1:87 | largest vehicle, track and digital world | new train families, multiple units, shunting models and technical functions |
| Z Gauge | 1:220 | a complete railway in very little space | more modern regional transport and compact operational locomotives |
| Gauge 1 | 1:32 | maximum visual presence and extensive functions | smaller shunting locomotives, wagon families and operational digital functions |
C Track is the technical foundation for many Märklin layouts. Additional track geometries could therefore have an enormous effect. New slim turnouts, flexible transitions or practical feedback and turnout-decoder components can sometimes be more useful than another individual locomotive. The same applies to digital technology: vehicle management, shunting operation and data backup could be designed even more strongly around the needs of large real-world layouts.
Additional turnout designs could make large stations more compact while retaining a more prototypical appearance.
Shunting locomotives gain considerable operating value when uncoupling can be controlled directly from the Mobile Station or Central Station.
Locomotive images, names and function assignments should be easy to export and restore.
Small shunting and steam locomotives in particular benefit from reliable running across brief interruptions in electrical contact.
A digital starter set with a shunting locomotive, Telex coupling, loading siding and several tasks could teach genuine railway operation in a playful way.
Containers, gantry crane, trucks and a freight train could create a contemporary logistics theme for younger railway enthusiasts.
An engineering train, excavator, ballast wagons and track construction site would combine railways with clearly visible activity on the layout.
Sets are particularly useful when their track and vehicles can later be integrated into the regular H0 digital world.
Create your wish like a short product specification. The page automatically turns the information into a prepared message. Selecting “Send Wish by E-Mail” opens an e-mail already addressed to denis@korn.de. Nothing is sent until you confirm the message yourself in your mail application.
Recipient: denis@korn.de. The page does not send anything in the background. The visitor’s mail application opens with the prepared subject and wish text; the message is sent only from there.
The finder considers only an explicit new-product year on the current product page. A 2026/2027 catalogue designation or a delivery date in 2027 is deliberately not sufficient.
The product finder loads current Märklin products directly from several English shop categories. Every selected product page is checked again. Archived products and items without a clearly assignable shop image are not displayed.
Current Märklin product pages will be checked when this section approaches the viewport.
Not as a complete dedicated new-products programme. A Märklin 2026/2027 complete catalogue already exists, but it must not be confused with a separate New Products 2027 brochure.
No. A model may have been announced in an earlier new-products programme and not be delivered until 2027. This page requires an explicit 2027 new-product designation.
Märklin’s principal model worlds include H0, Z gauge and Gauge 1. The programme also includes starter sets, track, digital technology, Start up and my world.
Possible wishes include VT 24 or Class 624, E 16, Class 146.1, ICE L, VT 10.5 Komet and selected historical steam or Swiss models. These are not confirmed new products.
More modern regional trains, compact shunting locomotives and complete train sets would be interesting additions for layouts with very limited space.
Alongside large express and steam locomotives, compact shunting locomotives with extensive digital operating functions could create an especially interesting layout concept.
Yes. New turnout designs, track geometries, feedback components and other layout accessories are explicitly part of the wish workshop.
Yes. Ideas concerning the Mobile Station, Central Station, mfx, data backup, vehicle management, Telex and other digital functions are welcome.
The wish workshop opens a prepared e-mail addressed to denis@korn.de. The visitor can review the message before sending it.
The live finder checks current Märklin product pages. Only products with an explicit 2027 new-product designation are placed in the official section.
No. If a product page clearly states that the item is no longer part of the range, the product card is not displayed.
