DB AG Class 120
A modern new TT tooling of Class 120 could cover InterCity, InterRegio and test-train subjects and provide opportunities for numerous variants.
H0, TT, N or garden railway: which prototype should PIKO finally produce in 2027? Which existing model family needs new variants? And which train is still missing just one vehicle before it becomes complete?
The page “PIKO New Products 2027 | Model Wishes & Ideas” is not intended to be an invented preview. As long as the official PIKO programme for 2027 has not been published, the more interesting question is this: which new model would genuinely improve an existing collection or model railway layout?
PIKO has an unusually broad starting point for this discussion. The 2026 programme contains more than 450 new products and spans H0, TT, N and G gauge. In H0, classic and modern locomotives, multiple units, coaches, wagons, starter sets, A-Track and digital technology are available side by side. TT and N continue to gain more sophisticated vehicle families. The garden railway programme even includes advanced features such as motorised pantographs and digitally controlled couplings.
An interesting new tooling should ideally allow more than one running number. A modern regional multiple unit could appear for several operators. A new freight locomotive could be used in different countries and eras. A wagon family is particularly valuable when several running numbers make complete trains possible.
Not every modeller needs a completely new tooling every year. A missing era, another operator, an additional intermediate coach or a technical upgrade can be just as interesting. This is why the wish workshop accepts both new toolings and specific variants.
Only when a current product page explicitly states “New Product 2027” should the model automatically move into the official new-products section.
The following models are not announcements. They demonstrate how different a useful wish can be. Favourites can be marked and automatically transferred into your own message later.
A modern new TT tooling of Class 120 could cover InterCity, InterRegio and test-train subjects and provide opportunities for numerous variants.
The locomotive would work particularly well with modern container, tank and car-transport trains and could usefully expand today’s TT freight-traffic range.
An RS1, Mireo or comparable regional vehicle could make compact TT layouts with short platforms and frequent shuttle services considerably more interesting.
The new H0 tooling is an obvious candidate for additional historical conditions and running numbers of this elegant express electric locomotive.
Battery trains are becoming increasingly visible on regional routes. A model of this type would provide a contemporary branch-line subject without continuous overhead wiring.
The existing vehicle family could be expanded with further real operators, making contemporary freight trains even more varied.
The new TT tank locomotive demonstrates how attractive compact steam-railway subjects can be. An N-gauge version could be ideal for small historical branch lines.
The modern dual-mode locomotive could look especially impressive in front of long N-gauge freight trains and would add a current traction type to existing Vectron families.
Following the new H0 tooling, a smaller version would provide an interesting shunting and local-freight subject for N-gauge freight yards.
The technically sophisticated garden-railway tooling could develop into a long-term model family with additional real liveries.
Container, pocket or car-transport wagons would allow modern garden-railway freight trains and would complement current locomotives in a useful way.
V 90, V 60 and modern shunting locomotives would benefit particularly strongly from prepared or factory-fitted digitally controlled couplings.
Perhaps you are not missing a locomotive at all, but a driving trailer, sleeping coach, particular freight wagon or a new track component. You can formulate your idea completely freely in the wish workshop.
| Gauge | Scale | Strength | Possible Wish Direction for 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| H0 | 1:87 | largest PIKO product range | Expert new toolings, complete train families and further AC/DC variants |
| TT | 1:120 | growing locomotive and wagon range | modern electric locomotives, multiple units and missing DB / DB AG vehicles |
| N | 1:160 | long trains in limited space | successful H0 and TT toolings transferred to 1:160 |
| G | approx. 1:22.5–1:29 | complete garden-railway world | modern vehicles, digital functions and suitable long wagon families |
PluX22, Next18 and other current solutions should keep digital upgrades straightforward while providing enough space for sound and power buffers.
Cab, control-desk, engine-room and tail lighting add operating value when they can be controlled independently in a sensible way.
Digitally controlled couplings would be particularly useful on shunting locomotives and garden-railway vehicles because they create a genuine operating function rather than only a visual effect.
A straightforward connection between control, decoder programming and vehicle management could make the PIKO digital system even more convenient.
PIKO combines rolling stock, starter sets, track and digital technology. This means model wishes for 2027 can be considered much more broadly than simply another locomotive. New wagon families, train sets, digital functions or track components can also fit naturally into a future programme.
The wish workshop creates a structured message from your information. When you select the e-mail button, a prepared message addressed to denis@korn.de opens. You can check and edit the text there before sending it yourself.
Recipient: denis@korn.de. The page does not send any message automatically. The visitor’s mail application opens with a prepared subject and wish text.
The live finder places products here only when their current shop page explicitly states “New Product 2027” or another unambiguous 2027 new-product designation.
The finder loads current PIKO products from the webshop. Visitors can therefore check which prototypes already exist before submitting a wish and decide whether a new variant, another gauge or a complementary vehicle would be more useful.
Current PIKO product pages will be checked when this section approaches the viewport.
No. As of August 2026, no official regular PIKO new-products programme for 2027 has been published. The proposed vehicles on this page are explicitly wishes.
The current PIKO vehicle programme focuses on H0, TT, N and G gauge. H0 and G also have extensive track and layout product worlds.
Possible wishes include Class 120, Class 152 or a modern regional multiple unit. These examples are not confirmed new products.
Successful vehicle families from H0 or TT could be transferred to N gauge, for example Class 91.3, V 90 or a Vectron Dual Mode in 1:160.
Further Class 248 liveries, modern freight-wagon families and additional digital functional models are possible wish directions for G gauge.
Yes. The wish workshop is explicitly intended for variants of existing PIKO models as well.
The wish opens as a prepared e-mail addressed to denis@korn.de and is then sent by the visitor using their own mail application.
The finder checks current PIKO product pages. The official section only displays products whose page explicitly contains a 2027 new-product designation.
Yes. Product pages containing a clear notice that an item is no longer part of the range are rejected before display.
Describe your wish as specifically as possible. Perhaps the locomotive, multiple unit or wagon you are missing is something many other modellers have also been waiting for.
