The Lux Modellbau Product Overview 2027 helps you choose cleaning vehicles and maintenance accessories. It presents a product range; the year in the title does not automatically make the products new releases.

Which new model is right for you?

Browse the illustrated selection or load the larger selection from the Roco and Fleischmann pages. Search by model, MBS item number, manufacturer’s item number or full EAN, and combine the filters.

Nine selected models

The selection includes different versions and sets; each set counts as one shop item. The linked product page provides the exact specification. A delivery date does not identify a product as a new release.

New models, thoughtfully combined

More than a new train.

Choose rolling stock with a plan

A year of new releases becomes particularly exciting when individual models come together to form a coherent train. Start with the era, railway operator and intended use: branch lines, long-distance services, engineering trains and freight logistics require different rolling stock.

A new locomotive need not stand alone. Matching passenger coaches, baggage coaches or goods wagons can complete a train you already own. First consider the role the model will play on your layout. For a small branch line, train length, short platforms and straightforward operation are often more important than having as many vehicles as possible.

In H0, it is also worth comparing two-rail and centre-rail versions. The smaller size of TT and N makes longer trains easier to accommodate, but you still need to check curve radii, gradients and platform lengths. Narrow-gauge models in H0e or H0m likewise need to fit a carefully chosen layout concept.

Add technology to suit your layout

Sound, lighting and digital control can bring a train to life. What matters is the exact version. “Digital” does not automatically mean “with sound”, and the same locomotive class may be offered with different equipment.

Compare the full product description with the MBS item number. For a later conversion, the decoder interface, available decoder space, current draw and manufacturer’s instructions are essential. For coaches and wagons, consider wheelsets, couplings, interior lighting and tail lights. Models that look similar can differ technically.

A logical sequence also helps beyond the train itself: start with a dependable power supply and reliable track, then add extra functions. Signals, feedback detection and lighting can be added selectively once the intended operating concept is clear. This creates an expansion plan that suits your existing layout.

Give your scenery new stories

New releases are not limited to locomotives and rolling stock. A new station, a workshop, figures on a platform or convincing greenery can noticeably change the character of a layout. When choosing buildings, consider scale, footprint and the space needed for access roads and surrounding facilities.

Plan a scene as a whole: where do passengers wait, how do staff reach the factory, where is the delivery vehicle parked and which paths connect the buildings? Small details are more convincing when they tell a plausible story. Colours and scenic materials should suit the chosen location and season.

Until a brand has presented its 2027 selection, its brand page leads to the existing range. This is a useful place to discover basic materials and possible additions. An existing product remains part of the regular range; including it in your plans does not make it a new release for the year.

Ready for the new model railway year

Turn a new release into the right model for you.

Model Railway New Items 2027 | Brands & New Models combines published ranges with a look ahead to other manufacturers. Use the overview as a starting point, then check your favourites on their individual product pages.

First note your layout’s requirements: gauge, power system, minimum radius, usable track lengths and digital equipment. Then choose the model and version. If you already have coaches or wagons, look for a suitable locomotive; equally, new rolling stock can complement a locomotive you already own.

Always keep the complete MBS item number when comparing variants. Different versions are listed separately in the shop. A photo or a similar product name alone is not enough to identify sound equipment, the power system or a particular running number reliably.

Placeholders deliberately remain visible for ranges that have not yet been announced here. Existing wish list pages provide space for ideas without presenting them as confirmed products. Links to the official catalogue sections complement the overview, while the product pages describe the specific version offered in the shop.

Questions about new items for 2027

Which new items ranges have already been published?

Roco has published official 2027 catalogues for H0/H0e and TT. Fleischmann’s 2027 new items catalogue is available for N gauge. The relevant shop pages are linked directly above. For other brands, this overview uses grey logos to indicate that a confirmed selection has not yet been published here.

What does a greyed-out brand logo mean?

A confirmed 2027 selection for this brand has not yet been published in this overview. The brand page remains accessible. If a 2027 theme or wish list page already exists, it is linked too. The existence of such a page does not itself confirm a new items range.

Is every product with a 2027 delivery date a new item for 2027?

No. A model announced earlier may not be delivered until 2027. The manufacturer’s announcement or new items catalogue determines the release year. A delivery date or the year printed on a main catalogue is not sufficient on its own.

Are all models completely new designs?

A new items range can include new tooling, tooling variants, liveries, lettering and other versions. The manufacturer’s description states whether a particular product is a completely new design. This overview does not equate “new item” with “new tooling”.

Which item number is displayed?

The product cards show the MBS item number, for example MBS195871. The complete EAN also remains visible. Manufacturer’s item numbers can still be used for searching and may form part of the full product name.

Where can I find missing brands and other gauges?

The brand overview includes all 101 manufacturers from the supplied directory. The search finds a brand even if its card is not initially displayed. Brand pages lead to other gauges, technology, scenery and accessories.

Is the Lux overview a new items catalogue?

No. The Lux Modellbau Product Overview 2027 presents the cleaning and maintenance range. The year identifies the edition of the overview, not the release year of every product shown.

Where are the official catalogues?

The official Roco catalogues and Fleischmann catalogues complement the shop overviews. Before placing an order, compare the version and specifications on the linked product page.
